You know, when you do something big, there will be challenges sometimes, in the moment, it's easy to forget why you started the journey in the first place. ⚖ There is more balance and fun in our lives. 👋 We both have a small social circle through our efforts to integrate within the community.
🗣 My son is fluent in French, loves school, and has discovered he is excellent at maths. 👩💼 I'm managing a department and a small team at work. 🛠I'm currently renovating the house that I bought. This photo of my son's teddy reminds me of what we have achieved: 🗣 Learning the language has been and continues to be a challenge, but one which is coming together.Īt many stages, I could have given up and gone back to the UK, given up on the dream, but I decided to hold steady and see it through. 🏡 I couldn't find a house to buy in the local area, so it meant another new school for my son. 💱 Selling my UK house fell through, adding an unexpected financial strain. 😷 We moved at the start of Covid, adding a considerable strain to almost everything you need to do when you move.

In September 2020, I decided to move my son and me to France, and I bought Bufbuf (the teddy) for my son as a keepsake of the new adventure. Happy Friday!! It's a good day to reflect on the week you're leaving behind, but, today this memory came up from a year ago when my partner and his workmate took my son's teddy to work and bombarded me with photos of their day.
